Iris originates from a tribe. A tribe that is one with nature and does not normally speak in a language other than clicks of the tongue and other parts of the body they may use to beckon with.
This tribe lives in peace until a group of bandits come and terrorize them. The bandits end up killing most of the men simply by having far greater technology; the women and children taken with them; and the elders are left to wither.
The tribes younger generation are separated from their mothers, either given up to be studied or experimented on.
Iris falls into the latter category.
Though, at once the researchers find out that the girl possesses magical capabilities. It dumbfounded them. She had potentially dangerous amounts of mana stored in her. The researchers believed she would not last more than a few years due to this fact.
She is mostly used for experiments relating to magic.
Around this time, research beginning with another clan starts. Amongst the debris was a golden necklace. They decide to give it to the girl, drawing forth a summoning circle for her to see if anything would happen. She did not move.
However, Iris at the moment felt warmth in the necklace. She fought with the researchers in an attempt to keep it. They relented, in hopes that she might one day summon a powerful servant with it if given more time.
The facility gets found out by human rights foundation after several years and the girl is given to a family.
Sadly, the family is a broken one at that. The mother leaves with her child, leaving Iris with the abusive dad.
Despite leaving the mother did try and teach her how to speak at the age of 16.
Iris becomes selectively mute due to her adopted father disliking and hitting her when she talked. She can speak however, just three to five words. Her sentences usually don’t make any sense.
She has a lot of scars on her body too from objects being thrown at her.
She has a very thin body due to her adopted father barely feeding her.
When she is around 20, her adopted father starts gambling. He settles his debt through the means of prostitution, and then by selling her off.
She is sold off to a group that needed a sacrifice. A summoning circle is made, and she is stabbed in the stomach. The blood starts to flow; however, due to still having the necklace back from the facility: Ozymandias is summoned.
Personality
Iris simply lets things happen.
She still has a rather undeveloped way of thinking. An example of this is, “Don't make noise, you’ll get hit.”
She shows a lack of emotion, due to how she cried a lot when they did research on her but when she realized no one would save her she stopped.
She is very devoted to Ozymandias simply because the family she was with was religious. She understood the term god and what it meant. When Ozymandias said he was a god, she acknowledged him as one.
As she gets older, and along the side of her servant, she starts to possess a more developed side.
Speaking is still a difficult thing for her, but because Ozymandias did talk a lot, she would utter responses back to him when necessary. However, she begins to not be dependent anymore and process her own train of thought without needing to rely on the Rider.
Avenging her humiliation and mistreatment is the first thing she had wanted, and she does get revenge. She kills her adopted father and runs away into the night.
Iris no longer wants to let things just happen. She wants to control her future.
